The Cadillac Rotary Club will host its 25th Annual STRIDE FOR S.T.R.I.V.E. 5k Event on Memorial Day, May 29, hosting hundreds of athletes.  Because of extensive renovations at the High School football field this year, S.T.R.I.V.E. 5k timed participants and student participants will run or walk the course from the east end of Sunset Lane behind the Cadillac Senior Center (across the street from the High School football field) toward Kenwood Park and back along the shoreline of beautiful Lake Cadillac to the finish line at the east end of Sunset Lane behind the Cadillac Senior Center.  Through collaborative efforts by Cadillac Rotarians and other key community members, this event is successfully run each year.

STRIDE for S.T.R.I.V.E. was originally developed by Rotary District 6600 in Minnesota to support S.T.R.I.V.E. scholarships.  S.T.R.I.V.E. is an acronym for: “Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education” which is a high school student mentoring program that provides support to local students who struggle.  These students regularly succeed in their educational goals due to their participation in S.T.R.I.V.E.
