CADILLAC ROTARY CHARITIES
Cadillac Rotary Charities is another element of our Rotary Club, established in 1989 by donations from passionate Rotary members that had passed (Carl T. Johnson Estate and Emil Meyer Estate). Rotary Charities is a 501(c)3 organization that helps provide grants to special projects in the greater Cadillac area. These grants are awarded to non-profit agencies, municipalities, and schools. The Rotary Charities Board members meet quarterly to review applications.
In the past 35 years, Rotary Charities has granted $817,035.00 to Community projects that have made a difference in our community: some of the recipients of grants were given to Up North Arts, Munson Hospital, Love Inc. Cadillac Public Schools, Camp Torenta, Greenway Walkway, Forest View Playground, Sound Garden, Friends of the MacKenzie Trail, and the Pickle Ball Courts.
One of our exciting moments in Rotary, was our 100th anniversary in 2020; COVID-19 did not stop us from awarding $100,000 to 25 local non-profit organizations. The directors of the organizations were asked to meet us at the Rotary Reforming Art Pavilion over two days, where we surprised them with a big check.
